Indigo Seven Series
The Indigo Seven metalpoint series by D. Lammie-Hanson combines indigo, metallic materials, and lighting to create delicate subjects with emotional significance. The technique used is metalpoint, in which 24K gold, brass, and copper are drawn over indigo blue surfaces. The series explores our emotional connections to people, places, and things.
Gilded Agility
In "Gilded Agility," part of my Indigo Seven Series, I draw inspiration from three scientific sources: Leonardo Da Vinci's meticulous portrayal of the human form, Isaac Newton's exploration of color, and the grace of dancers' musculature. Using 14K and 24K goldpoint against indigo-hued substrates, I merge technique with subject matter, creating a visual dialogue between dance and precious metals. This body of work debuts at the International Museum of Surgical Science, encapsulating a harmonious blend of history, technique, and fascination with the human form.
